Please note that the use of QR codes on visitor registration posters may have disadvantages, especially compared to the use of dedicated on-site registration screens:

Availability off site: QR codes that are visible and accessible on posters can be scanned by anyone passing by or who has access to an image of the poster. This opens up the possibility of registering as a visitor without actually being physically present, which can lead to inaccurate visitor logs and potential abuse of the system.

Safety: By placing a QR code on a publicly accessible poster, sensitive information can potentially be exposed. Unauthorized persons can gain access to information about who works on site. It is therefore recommended that this be used for companies that have employee information publicly available, alternatively that one notifies a predefined visitor recipient/role to avoid exposing all employees.

Ease of use: Although QR codes are generally user-friendly, they require the user to have a smartphone with a camera and relevant software to scan the code. This may be a barrier for some visitors who do not have the necessary technology available.

These drawbacks suggest that while the use of QR codes may offer some advantages in terms of simplicity and potentially lower costs, there are important security and efficiency limitations that should be carefully considered.
